RUD Shortening devices and the future standard

The Committee for Round Steel Link Chains in Germany is currently working on a new standard for "Chain Shortening Devices" to improve the safety. Specific features will be explained in detail. The "Employer's Insurance Association" has withdrawn all Test Certificates of shortening devices which do not fulfill the requirements.

All these components should no longer be sold and shipped out with test documents acc. to EN 818-1 and EN 1677-1.

RUD shortening devices do fulfill already the current requirements or will be modified to meet the specs, shortly.
