Success Story – World’ first 2350 Chains

In 1942, RUD, the Inventor of Tire Protection Chains and World market leader introduced a product that would forever change the way rubber tired fleets operate in the World’s toughest environments. Decades of Innovation and Technology advances have kept RUD/Erlau committed to product performance and customer satisfaction.

Continuously increasing demand for precious commodities hidden in the Earth has led some of the largest Mines in the World to use the largest equipment in the World to extract and transport materials as safely and efficiently as possible.

wheelloader_95.jpg Several months ago Asarco Ray Mine, whom operates one of the Worlds largest Copper Mining complexes, located in Hayden Arizona approached RUD-USA requesting assistance to protect their future. Asarco would soon be taking possession of the World’s largest wheel loader, the Letourneau 2350, accessorized with 70/70x57 tires and a 53 yard bucket. Tire manufacturers would only guarantee Asarco 4 tires and knowing the World wide tire shortage, Asarco relied on past experience and achievements with RUD/Erlau protection chains and placed the order.

On May 30th, 2007 RUD/Erlau - North America had the opportunity to mount the first set of chains in existence on 70/70x57 tires. The chains were Granit Plus x 22mm especially designed to withstand the extreme stress associated with severe mining applications supporting the Worlds largest loader.

Since the chains were mounted at Asarco feedback has remained very positive assuring RUD/Erlau that achievements would be historic and second to none.
