CCIQ ecoBiz 3 Star Partner

One of RUD's business leaders, Courtney Nuttall, sharing our ecoBiz story to an audience of QLD businesses.
A main RUD initiative in action includes the instalment of solar panels on the warehouse roof.

RUD has officially been named as an CCIQ (The Chamber of Commerce and Industry Queensland) ecoBiz 3 Star partner, also known as a ‘Champion Star Partner’.

CCIQ ecoBiz is a program that assists businesses to reduce their power and water consumption, and waste generation. It assists businesses to track and reduce these three metrics over time.

To become a CCIQ ecoBiz Star partner, a business needs to achieve a minimum of 10 per cent reduction target in 1, 2, or all 3 areas (energy, water and/or waste) from one year to the next (based on a baseline year). Businesses are named a CCIQ ecoBiz, 1, 2 or 3 Star partner based on how many of these areas they have achieved a minimum of 10 per cent reduction.

RUD started the EcoBiz journey in 2014 and re-engaged in 2016, working with sustainability coach Don Parry to continually reduce our power and water consumption, and waste generation to improve our overall sustainability. Since 2016, there has been a 33% increase in production output at RUD but near NO increase in waste energy and water. Therefore, with the assistance of CCIQ ecoBiz, RUD has reduced all 3 areas and have been awarded the title of a CCIQ ecoBiz 3 Star partner.
