The Otto Rieger Foundation.
We take responsibility for generations.
A company can only be successful in the long term if it lives commitment, loyalty and a sense of togetherness across generations. It was this conviction that led the long-serving RUD Managing Director and senior partner to set up his Otto Rieger Foundation in 1975.
He had recognised that the willingness of younger people to learn and the wealth of experience of older people are the basis for a strong company family – and at the same time a central secret of the company’s success. With the foundation, he wanted to make it easier for young people to start their careers and support long-serving employees beyond their active years.
For 50 years: Commitment out of gratitude and conviction.
The Otto Rieger Foundation pursues exclusively charitable and benevolent purposes. Its commitment includes:
- The promotion of young people through educational and further training programmes.
- Foreign language courses for trainees and employees.
- The care and support of long-serving employees and RUD pensioners.
- Supporting church and cultural organisations at the company location in Aalen-Unterkochen.
- Donations to other charitable organisations that pursue similar objectives to those of the foundation.
Impulse for tomorrow: Otto Rieger’s legacy.
Otto Rieger (1898–1987) took on responsibility for the family business at a young age. Together with his brothers, he led RUD from a chain factory to a modern industrial company from 1929 onwards. Christian values and social responsibility characterised his entrepreneurial activities. His understanding of appreciation, training and care is still the foundation of the Otto Rieger Foundation today – and a living legacy that connects generations.
