Environmental and climate protection are not a trend for us, but a clear commitment. Since 2007, we at RUD have relied on an advanced energy management system, which has also been certified to ISO 50001 since 2012. In combination with our comprehensive environmental management system, this ensures that we utilise resources efficiently, save energy and at the same time guarantee the highest process quality. Because real innovation always thinks sustainably.

Environmental protection that is measurable.
At RUD, environmental protection does not remain abstract – we make it measurable. Our key performance indicator system creates full transparency regarding key environmental and energy aspects. This enables us to derive targeted optimisation measures and ensure sustainable progress.
As a certified specialised company in accordance with Section 19 l of the German Water Resources Act, we also set the highest standards for the protection of water and soil. For us, responsibility not only means acting sustainably, but also demonstrably doing it better.
The river we protect: Black Kocher.
The Schwarze Kocher has been a part of our home since our foundation. We have therefore taken on a great responsibility, which we have taken very seriously for many decades. That is why we consistently focus on measures that help to protect the river and keep it clean.
- Implementation of the Kocher restoration programme.
Among other things, we release around 200 trout every year. - Clean processes.
We do not discharge any treated industrial wastewater into the Kocher. - Cooling water with responsibility:
We only discharge cooling water from the single cooling system into the river under strict conditions. - Natural heat protection.
We maintain riverbank vegetation and trees to protect the river from excessive heat. In doing so, we maintain mixed vegetation and biodiversity. In this way, we also offset some of the CO2 emissions that cannot be avoided during our activities. Comprehensive precautions: We minimise risks in the event of damage with extensive protective measures, safety regulations and the operational readiness of our plant fire brigade.
Safety that reassures: RUD plant fire brigade and paramedics.
For over 45 years, our officially recognised RUD plant fire brigade has been a guarantor for hazard prevention and emergency preparedness. In close co-operation with the volunteer fire brigades, the team ensures that every action is taken in the event of an emergency.
But we go even further: our own specially trained RUD paramedics are on hand to provide fast and professional first aid. Because for us, safety is the result of responsibility, expertise and the best possible preparation.
