Drive technology for debris removal at sea

Safety and optimal use of resources for debris removal at see

On trailing suction hopper dredgers, safe debris removal at sea is an important safety factor. The TECDOS-PI-GAMMA drive system and the associated components safely move the bulldozer blade on the debris removal platform of the Vox Amalia (Van Oord). At the touch of a button the debris is pushed back into the sea. The robust, long lasting, and easy to maintain 2-in-1 chain drive solution TECDOS PI-GAMMA defies any weather (heat, cold, ice) and was developed specially for vertical and horizontal applications and has a chain loop angle of between 90° and 180°.

RUD TECDOS PI-GAMMA

RUD TECDOS PI-GAMMA

Drive technology for horizontal, ascending & vertical applications:
The PI-GAMMA 2-in-1 complete system is ideally suited for horizontal, ascending and vertical tasks, with its fixed 180 degree deflection (with insert), or its flexible deflection of between 90 and 180 degrees (without insert). Its versatility makes this drive system more efficient.

The versatile modules can be used as either drive or deflection modules with integrated roller bearings. The drive shaft is free from any additional forces and does not need a shaft if used as a deflection module. Integrated chain guide and straightener.

The large PI pocket wheel blocks enable vertical and horizontal drives with 180° chain redirection to be used. Large GAMMA pocket wheel blocks are used for drives with a 90-180° deflection.

RUD TECDOS OMEGA DRIVE

RUD TECDOS OMEGA DRIVE

Linear or rotational movements in offshore and onshore projects:
The TECDOS OMEGA DRIVE, with its characteristic shape and loop angle of 180 degrees which gave it its name, is especially suitable for continuous linear movements (linear drive) or rotational movements. It is typically used in onshore and offshore projects to move harbour and ships cranes, to align and adjust ship loaders and unloaders and also to open and close cargo space covers. When rotating, the OMEGA drive is also used to lift and lower platforms, drive ferries and extend telescopic booms and skidding systems.

RUD TECDOS round link chain

RUD TECDOS round link chain

The core component of each TECDOS system application is a highly wear-resistant RUD round link chain for maximum service life, even when handling extremely abrasive media. Its exceptional dynamic strength ensures maximum operating safety when used for drive technology.

RUD TECDOS chain connector

RUD TECDOS chain connector

The extremely wear-resistant TECDOS chain connector for TECDOS drive technology and drive systems creates a reliable connection system even under the harshest conditions. Simply hammer it onto the chain to create infinite chain loops. Overall dimensions are approximately the same as those of the chain link. Please note: operating forces are limited to the maximum capacity of the chain connector.

RUD TECDOS pocket wheel

RUD TECDOS pocket wheel

Case hardened TECDOS pocket wheels are optimally designed to work with TECDOS chain and guarantee long life and silent running.

TECDOS chain wheels for drive units and redirection can be manufactured for single and multiple chain strand configurations. Available on request for all chain sizes from TEC 6 to TEC 260 for loads from 6 up to 260 kN.

RUD TECDOS end fixing

RUD TECDOS end fixing

The chain end fixing for connecting chains to supporting structures in the field of drive technology, transfers 100% of the TECDOS chain operating forces. Thanks to its adjustable axis, it ensures maximum flexibility during use.

RUD TECDOS PowerPoint fixing point

RUD TECDOS PowerPoint fixing point

The RUD PowerPoint fixing point for connection for chain, hook and eye, can easily be rotated 360° and swiveled 230°. The double ball bearing ensures easy tilting, turning and rotating in the area of drive technology.
